One of the six Caryatids created for the Erechtheion on the Acropolis of Athens, this figure was removed by Lord Elgin in the early 19th century and is now held by the British Museum. Her five sisters remain in Athens. “I miss my sisters” gives voice to the continuing call for her return to Greece.
